“Go ye therefore…”  With three simple words Jesus introduced his disciples to a mission that has propelled the Gospel across the world for 2,000 years. It’s a mission we still hold dear today. The following is an overview of some of the other endeavors we support in the U.S. and abroad through prayer, special projects, missions trips or yearly special offerings:
Recently an adult missions team from TGSM travelled to Guatemala to work with Bruce and Susy Ahlberg, who serve as missionaries with YWAM at the organization’s Antigua, Guatemala base. Bruce is currently the director at Antigua and has been working in the country since January 2000, directing the Discipleship Training School, Spanish Summer School and Outreach, Bible Distribution, Soul Patrol and overall operation of the base. Susy previously was a YWAM missionary in El Salvador before joining him in Guatemala. Please be in prayer for the Ahlbergs as they continue to commit their lives and ministry to this very special work.
Located in Southeast Kentucky, Big Creek Missions serves three of the most impoverished counties in the US. Founder and director Kevin Rogers has been a domestic missionary for more than a decade, reaching the people and families of Appalachia through community, construction and children’s outreach ministries. BCM hosts 200 volunteers each week in the summer (among them our teens, who travel to KY for their annual missions trip) and a variety of church groups and organizations in fall and spring. Kevin’s goal is not just to minister to the people of KY, but to train and equip groups to return to their own towns and engage in missions work there.
Each year, our congregation joins volunteers across the
nation to support Operation Christmas Child, an international outreach ministry from Samaritan’s Purse. Churches and individuals pack and send shoe boxes by the hundreds of thousands — each one filled with school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, toys, books, and other essentials — around the world to children in need.  Our in-house ministry, Hearts of Love, leads the charge on this important Great Commission project.
